Food Lore - Fenugreek

Fenugreek is a leafy vegetable used in Indian cuisine profusely! The word comes from two separate words: Fenu and Greek!
Fenu means grass! And Greek refers to Country Greece! This grass was eaten by animals and they were healthy! From Greece fenugreek came to India and made India its permanent abode!
In India is is used in cuisine and a herb in Ayurveda! Many medicinal properties are ascribed to fenugreek whose seeds are used in many treatment like diabetes and its infusion in oil is used in hair loss!
Fenugreek dried leaves are important in East Indian Cuisine for flavor and taste! It is known as Ladies perfume!
